Deputy Room Leader – 2–3 Year Old Room

£30,000 per annum 

Are you an experienced Early Years Educator with a passion for supporting toddlers as they learn, explore, and develop their independence?

We're looking for a dedicated Deputy Room Leader to join our client's welcoming nursery, supporting the day-to-day running of the 2–3 Year Old Room. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Nursery Practitioner or Senior Practitioner who is ready to take the next step in their career and develop their leadership skills within a supportive setting.

Working alongside the Room Leader, you'll help create a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can build confidence, develop key skills, and thrive through play-based learning.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (or equivalent)
• Previous experience working with toddlers or children aged 2–3 years
• Experience within a nursery, preschool, or childcare setting
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to support and guide colleagues within the room
• Passion for supporting children's learning, development, and wellbeing
• Good knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Room Leader with the day-to-day running of the toddler room
• Help lead and motivate practitioners to deliver outstanding care and education
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children's development
• Create a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where children can thrive
• Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues
• Support observations, assessments, and learning records in line with EYFS requirements
• Promote high standards of care, safeguarding, and health & safety
• Step into leadership responsibilities in the Room Leader's absence
