Room Leader – Level 3

Up to £29,400 per year | 40–42 Hours per Week | Full Time

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Level 3 Early Years professional to join a welcoming nursery as a Room Leader, combining hands-on childcare with the opportunity to lead, support and develop a team.

Caring for children from 3 months to 5 years, the nursery provides a nurturing and stimulating environment where children are encouraged to explore, build confidence and develop at their own pace. Purposeful play, engaging activities and everyday experiences are used to support children's social, emotional, physical and educational development throughout their Early Years journey.

As Room Leader, you'll take responsibility for creating a positive environment within your room, ensuring children receive consistently high-quality care while supporting your team to deliver their best practice.

What We're Looking For

• Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above.
• Previous experience within a nursery or Early Years setting.
• Previous experience as a Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner, or experience taking on additional responsibilities within a room.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and child development.
• Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
• Ability to lead, support and motivate practitioners within your room.
• Experience observing children's progress and ensuring appropriate next steps are identified.
• A positive and hands-on approach to leadership.

Leading Your Room

• Take responsibility for the successful day-to-day running of your designated room.
• Lead by example, providing warm, responsive and high-quality care.
• Support, mentor and motivate practitioners within your team.
• Plan and oversee engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences in line with the EYFS.
• Ensure activities reflect children's individual interests and developmental needs.
• Encourage children's curiosity, confidence and independence through play.
• Monitor observations and assessments to ensure children's learning journeys accurately reflect their progress.
• Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where every child can flourish.
• Support practitioners with their professional development and encourage consistently high standards of practice.
• Work closely with the nursery management team to support quality
• Maintain excellent standards of safeguarding, health and safety and practice.
