Senior Healthcare Assistant (Nights)

£29,900 per annum | 42 Hours Per Week | Night Shifts

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Senior Healthcare Assistant to join a welcoming care home providing high-quality residential and dementia care to a small number of residents.

Set within a beautiful converted property, the home offers a genuine home-from-home environment where residents are supported with dignity, compassion, and person-centred care. The service has been thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of older adults living with dementia, featuring dementia-friendly facilities and a secure garden that encourages independence, wellbeing, and meaningful engagement.

As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you'll play an important leadership role during night shifts, supporting the care team, overseeing medication administration, and ensuring residents receive the highest standards of care throughout the night.

What We're Looking For

• Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care
• Previous experience in a Senior Care Assistant, Team Leader, or supervisory role within a residential care setting
• Experience administering medication and maintaining accurate records
• Strong understanding of dementia care and person-centred support
• Knowledge of safeguarding, health & safety, and care standards
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions during night shifts

• Caring and compassionate with a resident-focused approach

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the care team during night shifts
• Deliver high-quality care tailored to residents' individual needs
• Administer and record medication safely and accurately
• Monitor residents' wellbeing and respond appropriately to any changes
• Ensure care plans and daily records are completed to a high standard
• Support residents living with dementia with dignity and compassion
• Maintain a safe, clean, and comfortable environment
• Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and care home policies are followed at all times
• Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and healthcare professionals
