Deputy Nursery Manager – Up to £35,000 per annum | 40 Hours per Week

 

We are working with a welcoming and well-regarded nursery that is seeking a qualified Deputy Nursery Manager to support the leadership and daily operations of their vibrant early years setting. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced Level 3 childcare professional ready to take the next step in their early years career.

 

The Deputy Nursery Manager will work closely with the Nursery Manager to support staff, uphold high standards of care and education, and ensure the smooth running of the setting. This role combines hands-on work with children with operational duties, offering the chance to lead, mentor, and inspire a dedicated early years team.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in Early Years Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in a leadership or senior practitioner role within an early years setting
  • Strong knowledge of the EYFS and child development
  • Sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills
  • A warm, supportive, and proactive approach

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager with the day-to-day operations of the nursery
  • Lead and mentor nursery practitioners to deliver outstanding childcare
  • Ensure the provision of a safe, secure, and stimulating environment for children aged 0–5
  • Help plan, implement, and evaluate activities aligned with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
  • Build strong, positive relationships with parents, children, and colleagues
  • Maintain accurate records, including observations, assessments, and safeguarding documentation
  • Uphold health and safety, safeguarding, and equality policies at all times
