Support Nursery Manager

Job description

Support Nursery Manager

Salary: Up to £50,000

Our client, a well-respected early years provider, is seeking an experienced and motivated Support Nursery Manager to support a group of nurseries across London. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident leader who thrives on variety, flexibility, and the chance to make a real difference in multiple settings.

This is not your typical nursery manager role. As a Support Nursery Manager, you’ll travel between nurseries across London, providing expert operational leadership and hands-on support where it's needed most — from stepping in during leadership transitions to helping improve standards or mentor local teams.

Working closely with Area Managers and Nursery Leaders, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring each setting delivers high-quality care and education that puts children first.

What You’ll Need

  • Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (or above)

  • Previous experience as a Nursery Manager (or within a similar role) is essential

  • A strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding, and regulatory requirements

  • Proven leadership and team development skills

  • A flexible, proactive approach and a willingness to travel across London

  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities

  • A genuine passion for giving every child the best start in life

Key Responsibilities

  • Take the lead in managing nursery operations across multiple sites when required

  • Provide short- and medium-term leadership cover for nursery managers

  • Support teams to meet and exceed EYFS standards and safeguarding expectations

  • Mentor and coach staff, developing leadership skills within local teams

  • Help drive quality improvement initiatives and ensure consistent standards

  • Build strong, positive relationships with staff, children, and families

  • Champion inclusive, child-centred practice in every setting you support
