Head Chef – £33,000 | 40 Hours | Luxury Care Home | 4 or 5 Days per Week

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled chef with experience in care or healthcare settings to combine leadership, creativity, and compassion in a rewarding environment.
This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), with flexibility to work across 4 or 5 days, including alternate weekends. The role offers a competitive salary of £33,000 and the chance to create nutritious, beautifully presented meals that support residents’ wellbeing every day.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior role within a care home, hospital, or healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of diets, nutrition, food textures, and allergy management.
- Confident leader with excellent team management skills.
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and infection control standards.
- A passion for creating high-quality meals with a person-centred approach.
- Relevant culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or above in Professional Cookery or equivalent).

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day running of the kitchen, ensuring meals are prepared to a high standard and in line with residents’ dietary needs.
- Plan and deliver seasonal, balanced menus that cater to a range of dietary requirements including soft foods, allergies, and specialised nutrition.
- Manage stock, ordering, and compliance with food hygiene and safety regulations.
- Mentor and support kitchen staff to deliver excellent service.
- Liaise with care teams to ensure residents’ health and wellbeing needs are reflected in the food provided.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and organisation in the kitchen at all times.
