Nursery Manager – Leading Early Years Setting in Fleet

Salary: Up to £50,192 + (Including bonus scheme)
Hours: Full-time, Permanent

Location: Fleet, Hampshire

Our client, a well-established and family-run early years service in Fleet, is looking for an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead their flagship nursery. Rated Good by Ofsted, the nursery provides a warm, nurturing, and stimulating environment children aged 3 months to 4 years.

 

This is a rare opportunity for a confident, hands-on leader to join a highly supportive management team and play a key role in shaping the future of an exceptional early years setting.

 

About the Role

The successful Nursery Manager will take responsibility for the overall leadership and day-to-day operations of the nursery. You’ll inspire a dedicated team, ensure excellence across early years education and care, and continue the service’s strong reputation within the local community.

You will be fully supported by a robust Admin and Finance team, allowing you to focus on what you do best — leading your team and ensuring every child thrives.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum Level 3 in Childcare (Level 5 or higher preferred).
  • GCSE or Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths.
  • Proven experience in nursery or early years management with strong Ofsted outcomes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational abilities.
  • In-depth knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and childcare legislation.
  • Up-to-date Paediatric First Aid and Safeguarding training.
  • A proactive, compassionate, and positive approach to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, motivate, and support a team of 30+ early years professionals, including apprentices, qualified teachers, and support staff.
  • Oversee daily nursery operations including staffing, occupancy, budgets, and parent partnerships.
  • Ensure full compliance with EYFS, safeguarding, and health & safety requirements.
  • Promote inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunities throughout the setting.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and embed innovative practices.
  • Conduct supervisions, performance reviews, and staff development plans.
  • Build strong relationships with parents, offering engaging nursery tours and excellent communication.
  • Step into ratio when required, leading by example with a calm and caring presence.
