Senior Healthcare Assistant – Night Shifts - £13.30 per hour

 

Every night, you’ll be responsible for the comfort, safety and dignity of older people living with dementia. This Senior Healthcare Assistant role places you at the centre of care delivery - leading colleagues, responding to changes, and making sure each resident’s individual preferences are respected.

 

Before You Apply

  • You must have recent experience as a Senior Healthcare Assistant within a care home.
  • A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care is required.
  • This role includes night shifts and alternate weekend working.

  • £13.35 per hour
  • 36–48 hours per week
  • Shifts: 7:00-7:00
  • Permanent contract
  • Night shifts, including alternate weekends

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the night shift and allocate duties to care staff
  • Administer and record medication in line with policy
  • Monitor residents’ wellbeing and respond to clinical changes
  • Support residents with personal care and mobility needs
  • Complete accurate care records and night reports
  • Liaise with on-call managers and external professionals where required

 

What You’ll Need

  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Proven experience as a Senior Healthcare Assistant in a care home
  • Experience supporting older adults, including those living with dementia
  • Confidence leading a shift and supervising staff
  • Competence in medication administration and record keeping
