Job description
Senior Nursery Practitioner – Up to £35,300 | 42.5 Hours per week, all year round
Set within acres of private woodland, this nursery is a truly special place where children are encouraged to learn through exploration, play, and connection. With a nurturing, child-led approach and a passionate team, it offers an environment where both children and practitioners can thrive.
We are now looking for an experienced Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our client’s nursery on a full-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident, knowledgeable early years professional ready to take on more responsibility — supporting the Room Leader, mentoring colleagues, and ensuring high-quality practice across the room.
What We’re Looking For:
- Level 3 qualification (or above) in Early Years or equivalent (essential)
- Significant experience in a nursery or early years setting
- Sound understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures
- Proven ability to lead, support, and inspire a team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- A nurturing, reflective, and proactive approach to practice
- Passion for outdoor learning and nature-based play
What’s in it for you?
- Competitive salary up to £35,300
- Onsite parking
- Discounted school fees
- Lunch provided
- Ongoing training and professional development opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
- Support and guide practitioners in delivering high-quality, child-led learning experiences
- Take an active role in planning, observing, and assessing children’s development
- Foster strong, positive relationships with children, families, and the wider team
- Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment at all times
- Assist the Room Leader in maintaining high standards of care and practice
- Model and promote best practice in line with EYFS and safeguarding policies
- Contribute to continuous improvement and reflective practice across the setting
