Deputy Nursery Manager – Maternity Cover (1 Year) | Up to £35,000 | 40 hours hours per week

Our client is seeking a dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join their friendly and passionate team on a 1-year maternity cover contract. This full-time role (40 hours per week) offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a setting that feels like home.

As Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll work closely with the Nursery Manager to support the daily operations and ensure a safe, stimulating, and nurturing environment for children. You’ll be a positive role model for staff, build strong partnerships with families, and contribute to the continued success of the setting.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Deputy Nursery Manager
  • A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (or higher)
  • A strong understanding of the EYFS, safeguarding, and early years legislation
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and people management skills
  • A passion for creating enriching experiences for young children
  • Warm, approachable, and supportive leadership style

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing the day-to-day running of the nursery
  • Lead and mentor staff to uphold high standards of care and education
  • Maintain compliance with safeguarding and health & safety requirements
  • Foster a warm and inclusive environment where every child feels valued
  • Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and the wider community
  • Monitor and support the delivery of the EYFS framework
  • Step into the Manager role as needed in their absence
