Deputy Nursery Manager – Term Time Only
Salary: £28,500 per annum
Hours: 36.25 hours per week
Are you an experienced early years professional passionate about preparing children aged 3–5 for school and lifelong learning? Our client, a well-regarded pre-school setting, is looking for a Deputy Nursery Manager to help lead their dedicated team and inspire the next generation.
This term-time only role offers the ideal balance of leadership, hands-on early education, and work-life flexibility in line with the school year.
This vibrant and inclusive pre-school nursery is committed to delivering high-quality early years education for children aged 3 to 5. The team focuses on creating a nurturing, engaging, and well-structured learning environment where every child is encouraged to grow in confidence, independence, and curiosity.
As Deputy Nursery Manager, you’ll support the day-to-day running of the setting, take the lead in the pre-school room, and work alongside a strong team to help children make a smooth and confident transition to primary school.
What We’re Looking For
- A full and relevant Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Education
- Proven experience in a senior role within a nursery or pre-school setting
- Sound understanding of the EYFS, especially the 3–5 age group and school transition
- Confident leadership skills and the ability to support and develop others
- Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills
- Passionate about providing outstanding learning experiences for young children

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager in leading the daily operations of the pre-school
- Lead and inspire staff working with 3–5-year-olds, fostering a collaborative and positive team culture
- Oversee planning and delivery of a high-quality EYFS curriculum focused on school readiness
- Build strong relationships with families and maintain open, professional communication
- Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, and Ofsted standards
- Mentor junior staff, role-modelling best practices in early education and care
