Nursery Room Leader (Toddler Room)

Our client is looking for an experienced, caring Room Leader (Toddler Room) to join a warm, inclusive early years nursery. The successful candidate will lead the toddler room, ensuring high-quality childcare and early education in line with EYFS standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone ready to take ownership of a room, guide a team, and make a real difference in children’s early learning journeys.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent) required.
- Proven experience in a leadership role in an early years or nursery setting, especially in toddler care.
- Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Up-to-date safeguarding knowledge and DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
- Ability to lead by example, motivate staff, and foster a positive, inclusive environment.
- Patience, creativity, flexibility, and a genuine passion for early years education.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the toddler room: plan, deliver, monitor and evaluate age-appropriate activities that support children’s learning, development, personal, social and emotional growth.
- Manage, support, train and mentor a team of early years practitioners, ensuring staff deliver best practice in care and education.
- Be the key point of contact for children in your room and their families: build relationships, share progress, observations and any concerns.
- Ensure the room meets all regulatory, health, safety, safeguarding and hygiene requirements.
- Maintain accurate records: observations, planning, assessments, daily logs, attendance etc., to track progress and support transitions.
- Work collaboratively with leadership and other rooms to share ideas, resources, and contribute to the broader nursery goals.
- Promote inclusion and support children with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) to ensure all children have access to high quality learning.
